Doddle for Dogs Review & Giveaway!

If your a regular viewer you will realise that i love my dogs more than life itself.

I was given the opportunity to review a new collar for dogs called 'Doddle' Its called Doddle due to its ease of use, its a doddle to use!

Doddle is a collar with a retractable lead built into it. I bet you wish you had thought of that idea!

Instagram: Ramblingsofgeo

We decided to give it a go on Vinny as hes a bit more laid back than Diesel, we used it on a recent trip to the vets for their yearly jabs, and it made life a lot easier.

The Doddle did make it a bit easier at the vets as i didn't have to faff about getting the harness off the dog so it wasn't in the way of his neck. It was a lot easier to get him in and out of the car too, he seemed less stressed too. I think the doddle is a good concept if you have well behaved/ trained dogs. Mine are a bit scatty (what jack Russell isn't!?) so i wouldnt be comfortable using this near roads as there is no way of stopping them from lunging into the road.

The pod where the retractable lead is stored is quite large, so i wouldnt let my dog wear it all the time. Its well made though and very strong. There is some loops to attached ID tags, or another lead if you wanted a back up.

I love that this is another product that has been on Dragons den, one of my fav TV programmes.

How Handsome does my boy look!!

Some Pet facts for all you animal lovers out there!*

This video by Pet plan is so cool!!

I love some facts, and i found this really interesting and humorous.
Its also a pretty serious matter, pet insurance. We have insurance for the dogs, and i cant stress enough how important it is. If we didn't have it, then we would either be extremely in debt after the vet bills from Diesel being ill/injured, or we wouldnt have our baby dog now.

I cant imagine not having the cute little face in my life.
Pet insurance in my opinion definatly takes the worry of not being able to afford treatment out of the equasion. Diesel has had a total of about £6k of vet costs over the last 5 years. He hurt his leg which cost about £4k in xrays, MRI scans and numerous vet visits. And he then had Hemoragic gastroenteritus last night which we caught in time, which if we hadnt it could have killed him. Pretty scary stuff!

Now onto the fun stuff... watch this and learn some cool facts about pets and their owners!

Sunday ramble: Tropical Fish

Sundays are the best days...

They are the days where i know i have work the next day and i need to cram as much in as possible thats just me and mike time... its nice to just be together and have a random day out.

Like today, we got up early, walked the dogs and then we hurried out the door to go and look at fish tanks.

I know i need to get a new stand for my tank as the Ikea lack table has done well holding for 3 years but its starting to sink in the middle from the weight of the tank. sigh.

We saw a few Tanks which we liked, but we did the typical... Hmm well this tanks nice, maybe we should get a new one, a bigger one... then we saw an even bigger one. Now im undecided.

I have had my tank for a few years and for the past year i've had 4 fish, 4 that you cant really notice; Snoop is my Pleco which is a rare occasion to see him as he hides all the times, 1 mountain minnow which doesnt have a name, 2 catfish (Corys) called Pepper and Steak.

I was previously put off by other fish as i stocked my tank with Live bearing fish, thinking it would be cool if they had babies.... oh was i so wrong!

Guppies, platys and Mollies are lovely looking fish, however they reproduce like rabbits and i was consistantly giving fish away to people, and had to have a breeding net to put the babies in, in the end i gave up with the breeding net, let them swim in the main tank. They all survived, but then i was over run and gave all the fish away and left myself with one which then died. Probably because it missed its mates.. ah well.

So now i have recently re-stocked the tank, i have some Mountain minnows, Zebra Danios (Marty and Stripes) I got 2 cherry barbs (Cherry and Barbara) 1 butterfly plec (Bruce) and a Honey red dwarf Gourami (name TBC) and a tiny Panda Cory catfish called Rupert.

Rupert

Our plan would be to get a bigger tank, as in 125 litre, stock with bigger fish like the Gourami's and add more schooling fish like the Minnows, danios's and Barbs. Just to add some colour and make it visually appaealing. The plus side to getting a better tank would be they come with really good stands to support them, and we wouldnt risk coming home to a lounge full of water.

These are the options... the top ones is the Juwel Rio 125 and comes in White, black or Dark wood. Preferably i'd want dark wood, although i like the white... £269 with the stand.

This one is the Juwel Rekord 70 which i believe only comes in white or black... i really like the white, the black one looks really cheap. Ohhhh decisions, decisions.

Do any of you have Fish? i'd love to know and chat about it :)

Geek chat over. ;)

I just love *(fill in the blank)*

Here are some of my new found loves...

A clean fish tank...

Took me about an hour to take out 50% of the water, give everything a good ole scrub and then clean the filter, YUK! Mike helped me clean everything which was nice of him :)
I had quite a few fish ranging from Platy, Molly, catfish, Neon tetra's, sucker fish..etc
But alot of them died, the Platys procreated like it was the end of the world - note there is lots of baby platys in there, even some hybrid half platy half mollies!

Growing things..

I got mum some plants, seeds and some Bulbs for Mothers day, so i planted the seeds for her and im growing them at home so she can then plant them in the Garden. The seeds are not doing so good... the bulb however is shooting up and needs to go in the garden with the rest of them.
(more photos once its grown to its full size)

Kopparberg...

Strawberry & Lime Cider... One word YUM!

Butter...

I know...Random, but its Butter with Honey in it.. Proper Irish butter with Honey... soooo yummy on warm toast.

Wills & Kate ..

I know cheesy right, a photo of the TV.. haha - i spent hours watching the Royal wedding, from 8am in bed right through until about 6pm in the evening in the lounge... i didnt stay in bed all day.. :)

Christening day!

Last Sunday we were invited to a christening for our friends Daughters, it was a lovely day and really nice to catch up with friends and fa...
